Managing physical spaces is harder than it sounds. You know that wrench is somewhere in the garage — but which box, which shelf, which drawer?

Palstora solves this by letting you map your physical world recursively: a garage contains cabinets, cabinets contain toolboxes, toolboxes contain drawers, drawers contain items.

Getting started

Once you open the Palstora dashboard, you'll see the Storage Navigator on the left. This is your directory tree, the backbone of your catalog.

Start by creating your top-level container. For a garage, that might be:

  • 🚗 Garage (top level)
    • 🗄️ Cabinet A
      • 🧰 Blue Toolbox
        • 🔧 Wrench set

Nesting is the key

Unlike flat lists or spreadsheets, Palstora's recursive storage model means there's no depth limit. You can nest a box inside a box inside a box and search across the entire tree instantly.

Adding items

Inside any container, hit Add Item and fill in:

  • Name and description
  • Optional photo (great for identifying identical-looking boxes)
  • Tags for fast filtering

If you want to catalog visually, review the photo capture and QR label capabilities before you start.

Searching

The global search bar at the top of the dashboard scans all containers and items at once. Type "wrench" and Palstora shows you exactly where it lives in the hierarchy. You can also compare Palstora plans if your catalog needs more items, scans, or shared workspaces.
